Effective date: September 15, 2026 | Applies to the iOS app "Neighborhood Errand" and related services
Neighborhood Errand (referred to as "the App" or "we") values the importance of your personal information. This policy explains how we collect, use, store, share, and protect your information when you use the iOS app and related services, and the rights you have.
1. Information We Collect and How We Use It
1.1 Account & Identity Information
To provide the errand-matching service, you register an account and provide:
Nickname: shown on orders and community interactions;
Phone number: used for login verification, fulfillment contact, and account security;
Avatar: shown on your profile.
You may update your nickname and avatar at any time in "Profile".
1.2 Location Information
Neighborhood / community: the community you select, used to match errand requests within the same community. This is essential to the core function;
Device location (optional): if you grant permission, used to recommend nearby errands more accurately. You may disable location in system settings without affecting core features.
We use the system MapKit component to assist location display and do not track or record your location in the background.
1.3 Order & Fulfillment Information
Pickup code, station name, delivery address, and parcel size;
Contact details you provide (phone, WeChat ID): used only for fulfillment, and shown to the assigned neighbor only after an order is accepted. They are hidden before acceptance;
Order remarks you voluntarily provide.
1.4 Photos & Camera
When completing an order or filing a dispute, you may voluntarily take a confirmation photo or evidence photo and upload it as proof of fulfillment or appeal. We access the camera or photo library only when you initiate it.
1.5 Points
The system records points earned from completed orders to show personal achievement. Points are not exchangeable for cash, goods, or withdrawal.
1.6 Device & Log Information
For troubleshooting and security, we may log device model, OS version, and operational logs, excluding plaintext passwords.
2. UGC Content & Community Safety
Errand requests are user-generated content (UGC). To keep the community safe, we provide:
Report: every order detail page includes a report button for inappropriate content or users;
Block: you may block a specific publisher so their orders no longer appear to you;
Dispute / Appeal: if a transaction dispute arises, either party may open a case from the order page. We will provide a written decision within 48 hours based on order records, communication, and evidence.
3. How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information;
Fulfillment sharing: after an order is accepted, the requester's reserved phone / WeChat ID is shown to the assignee, solely for that fulfillment;
Legal compliance: disclosed when required by law or by competent authorities.
4. Payments
The App is an information-matching platform only. We offer no in-app payment, wallet, balance, top-up, withdrawal, or escrow service. The "thank-you fee" shown on an order is merely the publisher's stated intention; it is paid offline and in person between the two parties when the parcel is handed over. The platform never collects, holds, transfers, or charges any money.
5. Storage & Security
Data is transmitted over HTTPS and stored on access-controlled servers;
We apply reasonable technical and organizational measures to prevent leakage, tampering, or loss;
After account deletion, we delete or anonymize your personal information; contact details in historical orders are anonymized to preserve transaction records.
6. Your Rights
Access and correct your account information;
Request deletion of your account and related personal data (via the email below);
Revoke sensitive permissions such as location, camera, and photo library (in device settings).
7. Minor Protection
We do not knowingly provide services to users under 14. If a guardian discovers such use, please contact us for prompt removal.
